Credit control gives something back to customers

Plumbase and Plumbline customers are enjoying the generosity of Credit Management.  Twice a year a ‘pay early’ draw is held for customers who settle their account on or before the due date, leaving no overdue invoices outstanding. In the recent summer draw, four lucky customers each won £500 of M&S vouchers.

The draw is the brainchild of group credit manager, Christine Laird and runs across the Plumbase and Plumbline brands. Initially it was run as a Christmas promotion to encourage customers to settle their outstanding invoices leading up to the end of the financial year. 

 The four June winners were: Simon Hollywood from Penzance; Paul Roberts from Plymouth; Peter Millwood from Poulton-Le-Fylde and Warwick Plumbing Supplies from Solihull.

 “Last year I decided to run a separate summer promo to coincide with our half-year at the end of June,” says Christine.  “The promotion lasts for just one month but gets a great response.

“At the end of October and April we enclose a leaflet with every customer statement, put up posters in the branch and continue to remind them leading up to the closing date. Being entered into the draw to win a substantial prize is an incentive for our customers.

“It’s a nice concept with credit control giving something back to the customer.”
